Dr. James C. Hazlett graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Biology and went on to study Dentistry at The University Of Michigan. He graduated in 1996 and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency in the United States Air Force. He then served as a Dental officer at Macdill Air Force Base, Tampa. He began his private practice in Sarasota in 2001.
Continuing to learn has been especially important to Dr. Hazlett, and he has maintained an active membership in the prestigious Seattle Study Club. Dr. Hazlett practices family dentistry and treats school age children through seniors. His emphasis is on prevention and high-quality dentistry utilizing a team approach. He has a long-term, excellently trained staff that add a warm, family-like atmosphere to the office. He calls many of his patients friends and enjoys hearing about their lives.
Dr. Hazlett's wife of 25 years, Wendy, is a teacher at Pine View in Sarasota and together they have three children. Their oldest son, Jimmy, is a sophomore at The University of Florida and is studying Computer Science. Their identical twins Katie and Emily attend Riverview High School and play varsity lacrosse. Dr. Hazlett is a proud member of the community and has coached Little League Baseball and is active in Sarasota Bay conservation groups. His hobbies include saltwater fishing, kiteboarding, fitness and cooking.
